Wisconsin's Ho-Chunk Nation is trying to keep its culture alive by teaching younger members to speak the language. There are 7,000 members in the tribe and only 300 speak their native tongue. In Wisconsin Reporter Art Hackett shows you how a researcher from halfway around the world could save this native language in Wisconsin.

Phenology is a science that tracks the firsts for every season like the first robin, first snowfall, and when things sprout, bud and blossom in any given year. It's the unofficial account of when the seasons change. This spring perhaps the change came a bit earlier than usual. It's also important information in the study of climate change.

Steelhead Trout Run

The video was shot by one of our viewers, Harv Nelson of Washburn, as Steelhead trout migrated up the Sioux River in Bayfield County. The trout spend most of their life far out in Lake Superior but each spring they swim up stream to spawn.
