Veterans Court

In Wisconsin reporter, Frederica Freyberg, visits the Rock County Veterans Court in Janesville. Chief Judge James Daley volunteers his time to run the vets-only court program. As a Marine in Vietnam and a Brigadier General, the judge understands the veterans who come before him. The aim of the court is treatment for a combat veterans who gets in trouble with the law.

Bear Hunters and Wolves

The return of the grey wolf to their natural hunting grounds in Wisconsin has been contentious at best. Now two unlikely partners, the DNR and bear hunters are joining forces and taking aim at wolves.

Apostle Islands Ranger

Damon Panek is a ranger at the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. He's also a member of the Ojibwe Nation, one of the most recent Native American tribes to call this area home. Panek offers a wealth of cultural and historical knowledge, along with a deep passion for the natural world, to students who sign up for a 2 ½ day outdoor experience on Stockton Island.

Wausau Fest

Hot air balloons soar at an annual rally, while the yearly "chalk fest" on the town square keeps hundreds of artists close to the ground. But both festivals aim to lift the human spirit when they are held on the same weekend in July in Wausau.

Pow Wow

The wolf, bear, eagle, moose and crane are important symbols to the five clans of the Menominee Nation. They have been handing down their traditions from one generation to the next for 10-thousand years. Each summer clans from across the U.S. and Canada gather for the Menominee Nation Pow Wow.
