This weekend the Great Midwest Alpaca Festival gets underway in Madison. There are nearly two hundred and fifty alpaca farms in Wisconsin and the animals are viewed as an investment. Contributing producer Steve Doebel visits Jean Garvey's alpaca farm in Mazomanie.

Roger Lange and his son Brandon have been picking up tree nuts from lawns and parks since the boy was two. It?s tempting to say they're nuts about nuts. Brandon turned 13 this summer and set out with his father to gather up another profitable crop with their push harvesters.

Dedicated in 1975... this stretch of road in Taylor County near Rib Lake crosses through hills and valleys created by glaciers nearly 12-thousand years ago. It is the first road designated a "Rustic Road" in Wisconsin.

Stem Cell Camp

For the past three summers, WiCell, the University of Wisconsin's stem cell research center, has hosted students from rural Wisconsin high schools to help them learn about this emerging medical technology and about the options for biology at U-W Madison. In Wisconsin Reporter Art Hackett profiles a former camper now studying at U-W Eau Claire who has a very personal connection with stem cell research.
