Finally our "End Insight" segment. After watching the State of the State speech, singing commentator Peter Leidy wondered, what if Gov. Doyle had rapped his State of the State? Here's tonight's "End Insight" with Peter Leidy as Jim Doyle and the State of the State rap.
Peter Leidy: Yo! Hey, homie! Look who we got in the house! We find ourselves in trying times. Jimmy Jazz gonna try and bust a rhyme. Got a crisis in the economy from eight years of bad federal policy. I know jobs are down, anxiety people livin' in uncertainty. The State of the State is tough, people, we are tougher. Yo, Wisconsinites, I know life is rough. It could not get much rougher. but, my peeps, we can do it. We just got to work together. I'm keepin' it street, check out the beat, gonna come out stronger than ever. I was gonna show you graphs and charts, but that would be boring. JJ wants to hear applause, not the sounds of snoring. When I became the guv, I inherited some **** $3.2 billion budget deficit. But we worked hard, made spending cuts and put a lid on taxes. Some o 'them say, no way, Jimmy Jazz, but I tell you what the facts is. Now listen up, I got some plans that will bring satisfaction. I'll tell y 'all right now means we gotta take some action. Basic health insurance, yo, for people who have no. More jobs, jobs, jobs from Ashland to Monroe. Energy reduction, from Hudson to Pewaukee and put the mayor in charge of the schools in Milwaukee. None of this is easy, more budget cuts are comin'. We're workin' with the president to get Wisconsin hummin'. We can't deny that times are hard, the economy did fizzle. But Badgers do not give up. We fight and that's f'shizzle. ‘Scuse me while I bust a move... break it down! More jobs! Clean energy, dawg slam. On Wisconsin! We're Badgers! Go, Badgers. Thank you very much. Clean energy, dawg.
