This Chippewa River is 183 miles long and begins in Bayfield... before emptying into the Mississippi River near Pepin. It formed when the glacial Lake Duluth, the predecessor of Lake Superior drained.

Finally this week we take you to far western Wisconsin along the Chippewa River in Pepin County. The river is 183 miles long and begins in Bayfield before emptying into the Mississippi River near Pepin. It formed when the glacial lake, the predecessor of Lake Superior, drained.
