Frederica Freyberg:
Finally tonight our "End Insight" segment with Peter Leidy. Peter is watching the growing field of candidates for governor. Here he is with some of his own ideas for candidates.
Peter Leidy:
I have recurrent dreams again and again that it's already 2010. Since Jim Doyle said that he was done, a lot of people have decided to run. Robo-calls, TV ads galore, a couple dozen and maybe more. Every day there's new hats in the ring. It makes me so happy to sing. Because everybody wants to be the Gov, everybody wants to spread their love. Barbara Lawton could be next in line. Tom Barrett saying he'll fight crime. Here’s Congressman Ron Kind, Brett Favre hasn’t made up his mind. What a circus, push is comin’ to shove, ‘cause everybody wants to be the Gov. Well, here she comes, it's Kathleen Falk. And Charlie Sykes is even starting to talk. Scott Walker, he’s making a mark, and one of the sausages from Miller Park. John Gard said okey-dokey. Same with that “Idol” singer Danny Gokey. Tommy said “I'm the state’s heartthrob,” Rod Blagojevich said, “I need a job.” Lena Taylor, she's in too. Mike Sheridan is counting on you. Scott McCallum needs one more try. Mark Neumann says he's your guy. Peg Lautenschlager wants to come back. Tony Earl said he’d give it a crack. Prince Fielder could really whack it. And who's this? Art Hackett? Everybody wants to be the Gov. Everybody wants to spread their love. Michael Perry could be pulling ahead, but here comes Tommy's brother Ed. Now, if I make it through the primary, and it's down to Bob Uecker and me, I sure hope you'll show me your love. Heck, Bob can be Lieutenant Gov.

Peter Leidy's commentaries are musical. His opinions about who should run for governor and about everything else he sings about are his own. Pete will be back with another song next month.
